Hello all, happy new year!
I have a question about travel/Covid insurance: is the only requirement for it to cover $50.000?
I have Allianz Assistance (UK) travel insurance, which covers me for £5 million for medical expsenses; the wording includes "necessary and unforeseen emergency expenses if you die, are injured, have an accident or are taken ill during your trip (including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19 as well as being subject to compulsory quarantine on the orders of a treating doctor)".
Am I OK with this or should I look into the AXA one?
Thanks in advance :)
TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirement for travel/Covid insurance when entering Thailand, specifically questioning if coverage needs to be a minimum of $50,000. The author has Allianz Assistance which offers extensive coverage, but there are concerns about whether it covers asymptomatic Covid cases and the implications of hospitalization. Responses indicate that while the insurance may be acceptable, it might not cover all scenarios, particularly asymptomatic hospitalizations which Thai insurance policies may. It suggests reviewing specific policy details regarding Covid-related coverage.
