Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well today.

I would like to ask in regards with visa. I hope someone could help me out.

I am holding a Non B Visa and it will expire on April 30 2023, and I am planning to leave Thailand for good on May 2 2023.

Is it considered overstaying? Do I have to get a new visa?

Thank you so much. โค๏ธ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potentially overstaying their Non B Visa, which expires on April 30, 2023, while planning to leave Thailand on May 2, 2023. Community responses clarify that the Non B Visa is tied to a work permit, which becomes invalid upon cessation of employment. They suggest canceling both the work permit and visa extension before leaving to avoid overstaying issues.

30 April is a Sunday so you can't do anything that day. I'd suggest you get documentation from your employer and cancel both work permit and extension of stay in advance. Then it is up to you whether you risk overstay or leave on the 30th but the latter would be more sensible

A non-B is obtained based off a work permit. As soon as you stop working or your work permit expires, your non-B is no longer valid, whether it's cancelled or expired.

So if you are still working until April 30th then at that time you'll need to cancel your work permit and your non-B visa extension and you'll have until the end of that day to leave Thailand. You cannot extend it unless you are working and have the support of your workplace.

You'll likely need to plan to leave a few days earlier unless you're willing to risk overstay.

The thing is, my school contract ends on the same day (30 April), my visa and my work permit too (30 April). What should I do? Any suggestions aside from leaving early coz it's not possible. ๐Ÿ˜”

You can try going to immigration and applying for any extension. If they accept your application and fee, they will give you a 7 day "must leave Thailand" stamp. But there's no guarantee they will accept your application.
