Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well today.

I would like to ask in regards with visa. I hope someone could help me out.

I am holding a Non B Visa and it will expire on April 30 2023, and I am planning to leave Thailand for good on May 2 2023.

Is it considered overstaying? Do I have to get a new visa?

Thank you so much. ❤️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user holds a Non-B Visa that expires on April 30, 2023, and plans to leave Thailand on May 2, 2023. They are seeking clarification on whether this situation constitutes overstaying or if they need to obtain a new visa before leaving. Responses from the community suggest that leaving after the expiration date would be considered overstaying, especially since April 30 is a Sunday and May 1 is a public holiday.

Of course it’s overstaying.

Well, 30th is a Sunday and the 1st is a Public holiday. If you're not planning on coming back to Thailand I'd just go. When do you plan on cancelling your wp?

I think the legal implications would still be the same, whether or not the last day of stay is a Sunday. OP is permitted (I believe) to cancel work permit in advance (not sure how many days). Even if they go in ahead of time, the date of cancellation will be marked as the last day of extension of stay, not the day OP goes in. Best to cancel everything legally if there is a chance of returning at some point in the future.

Guess: You have a used and expired visa in your passport. You went to Immigration and got a new stamp with the text: Extension of Stay permitted up to 30 Apr 2023.

This Extension of Stay needs to be cancelled on your last day of working at the company who provided the documents, you may apply for a new Extension of Stay and get 7 days to leave the country.
