Can I stay in Thailand for an extra month after my work permit expires if my Non-B visa extension is till September 2021?

Hi all,

Back in September, I got a work permit and Non-B visa extension. My colleagues got their passports stamped accordingly for April 30 - the work permit expiry date. However, I got mine stamped for 1 year from the day I received the extension. Thus, I have a Non-B extension to September 2021. I think this was a mistake on the part of the immigration officer. Anyways, I'm leaving the job at the end of April, but wish to stay in Thailand for an extra month or so afterwards. Might there be a problem with this plan? And if so, what would be the solution?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user received a Non-B visa extension until September 2021 but plans to leave their job by the end of April 2021. They are concerned about staying in Thailand after their work permit expires, as their colleagues received a different stamp which would allow them to stay until April 30, 2021. The comments clarify that their right to stay in Thailand ends on April 30, and if they wish to extend their stay, they may face rejection when applying for another extension.

Your extension of stay will expire in September, 2021, OR your last working day, whatever comes first. In your case, your last day is April 30, 2021.

AS OF RIGHT NOW, on April 30, 2021, you will have until 11:59 PM THE SAME DAY to leave Thailand. If you apply for another extension of stay, it will be rejected, and you will have an additional 7 days to leave the country.

The government has been selling 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. However, the last day they are being sold is March 30, 2021. It is unknown if they will continue selling it after that date.

Thanks. How much are the 60-day extensions? And would I even be eligible? Like would I be able to get the 60-day stay without jeopardizing the validity of my work permit?

*ALL* extension of stays are 1,900 THB.

The 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 *DOES NOT* allow employment, and if you must cancel your existing extension of stay based on employment.

The last day they are selling the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is March 30.

Interesting... well that gives me a lot to think about. In the meantime I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope the government changes the date to April 30. Thanks!
