Will leaving Thailand a few days before my Non-B visa expires raise questions at immigration?

Hi all. My Non-B visa ends on March 19. I'll go to immigration this week to inform them I'll stop working on that day. I plan on flying to Singapore on March 16 and returning on March 18. I'd like to return with a 30-day on arrival visa. My question is, would I get a second look from immigration about why I'm flying out before my visa ends? How about if I return before it would end? Some additional information, I've been on a Non-B visa for roughly the last six years. I haven't done a visa run since April 2013, and that visa was in my old passport. My new passport has only extensions and re-entry permits. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about leaving Thailand a few days before their Non-B visa expires and returning with a 30-day on arrival visa, expressing concern over potential scrutiny from immigration due to the timing of their flight. Community responses suggest that immigration will likely understand the situation, as it is common to finish work before a visa expires. However, there are cautions about ensuring the arrival stamp grants a full 30 days instead of just a day or two, and recommendations to cancel the Extension of Stay based on work status.

If you plan to leave on the 16th, make it easy for all and cancel your Extension of Stay based on Working on the 16th.

@Robert ******
thank you so much!

Yep, let your employer write a letter that the 16th is the last day of work and Immigration will cancel your Extension of Stay and change the permitted up to date in 16th.

Robert Lagas good idea. It’s fine to cancel on that day even though the 16 is a Saturday? Thanks for the advice.

You might want to make sure your stamp is 30 days... a slim chance is you would be stamped until that day (a.k.a. only one more day) because of still valid reentry permit (and extension)

okay yes, I thought we didn’t understand each other. I don’t have a valid re-entry permit. In my original post I meant to say that in my current passport there are only non-b visa extensions and used re-entry permits. There are no valid re-entry permits and I don’t want there to be. I would like to get a 30 day on arrival visa when I re-enter the country on the 18. Sorry for the mix up. Thanks 🙂

@Ken****
, I'm sorry but I think I don't quite understand what you mean you wouldn't have reentry permit.

You said you have extension and reentry permit. Your extension will be cancelled on 19th. Your current reentry permit is on your current extension, so technically reentry permit is also valid until 19th.. Or you are gonna cancel reentry permit separately?

Ellie Takei oh, I won’t have a re-entry permit. Basically, I will go to immigration and let them know I will stop working on March 19 which is the last day of my visa. I won’t apply for a re-entry permit and will leave the country on March 16 and return the 18. My Non-B should be cancelled and I should get the 30 days on arrival in this case, right? Sorry if I misunderstood. Thanks for the reply.
