Hi all. My Non-B visa ends on March 19. I'll go to immigration this week to inform them I'll stop working on that day. I plan on flying to Singapore on March 16 and returning on March 18. I'd like to return with a 30-day on arrival visa. My question is, would I get a second look from immigration about why I'm flying out before my visa ends? How about if I return before it would end? Some additional information, I've been on a Non-B visa for roughly the last six years. I haven't done a visa run since April 2013, and that visa was in my old passport. My new passport has only extensions and re-entry permits. Thanks in advance.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about leaving Thailand a few days before their Non-B visa expires and returning with a 30-day on arrival visa, expressing concern over potential scrutiny from immigration due to the timing of their flight. Community responses suggest that immigration will likely understand the situation, as it is common to finish work before a visa expires. However, there are cautions about ensuring the arrival stamp grants a full 30 days instead of just a day or two, and recommendations to cancel the Extension of Stay based on work status.
