Hey everyone, I'm interested to know what Thai embassies that are close to Thailand or a short flight away to get a DTV visa and are done within a week?

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
Expats seeking a DTV visa can consider several nearby Thai embassies for quick processing, often within a week. Notable locations include Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar, with comments suggesting the Thai embassy in Vientiane, Laos, and Yangon, Myanmar, as particularly efficient options. In Taiwan, a one-day approval process is mentioned, while Vietnam offers an eVisa that typically takes about five days. Prospective applicants are advised to check embassy websites for the latest information on processing times and document requirements.

Hi chi min has very reasonable flight prices and the hotels are much nicer than Laos. Also so is the food 😅

Check the Embassy websites about e-visa and processing time, and note that if extra documents are needed it may reset the processing time.

The processing time for those changing to e-visa may be incorrent in the beginning.

Best option would be to apply in your homecountry, avoiding being stuck in a hotelroom 1-2 weeks in a country you haven’t any interest in.

Vietnam eVisa. About 5 days according to people’s experiences here.

Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia all switched to eVisa now. Laos is also in the process to change the system and the last in person appointments are fully booked. and for evisa they claim 15 days processing time.

How was your process in Taiwan? They seem to be increasingly strict. I'm due to go there in 2 weeks.

very smooth, maybe because I provided all the requirements. My cat is Workcation. Few things to highlight as this was what she’s looking at first: 1. remote work setting written on Certificate of employment or contract

2. your company’s licence

3. Bank statement - I provided 2 banks one with 500k bhat (savings account) didn’t give bank statement just certificate of ending balance from the bank.

and the other one is where my salary is credited, printed from 6 months bank statement but only reflected 3 months because it was created 3 months ago for payroll. Highlighted the salary from the company. Not much $ balance on this one. Just movement of funds.

4. She highlighted where the company is located, my boss name and title

Came in 8.30am. Embassy opens at 9. Got my q number next door. 9 am I was second in line, there was 1 after me. Checked all my requirements and asked to come by at 3pm that day to confirm if approved or not. At 3pm they asked for the payment as it was approved. Advised to Pick up passport next day at 4pm.

Good luck!

Thanks . Your experience was very smooth, others recently the opposite. You noted your salary exchanged into THB or just the original currency?

@Christopher *******
then why would you recommend them if OP asks for quick processing times? as Laos states 15 days from january on. and fully booked for 2024
