Which embassy should I choose between Penang and Jakarta for my Thai visa application?

Hey guys,

After my visa application got cancelled, I don't have any other option except to try applying again. But at the same time, I'm running out of time on my Vietnamese visa — I’ll have to leave the country by tomorrow at the latest.

Which embassy should I choose between Penang and Jakarta?

These would be the best options for me because my country doesn't require a visa for up to 30 days.

Thanks for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether to apply for a Thai visa at the embassy in Penang or Jakarta, due to an impending departure from Vietnam. Comments suggest Jakarta as a preferred option for its perceived ease and efficiency, though some caution against the complications of the visa requirements in both locations.

I submitted on March 29th through HCM and they asked for more documents twice already and now it’s in “processing”status. I was also thinking if they didn’t approve my visa I will apply from Jakarta again

Penang - more expensive but a lot of things to do.

Jakarta - cheaper, but nothing to do.

People say Jakarta is easier. Maybe.

But I'm stuck here since 27.3, so 12 calendar days...

Maybe I would choose a different embassy/country next time. This reminds me covid times...

At least I have room with window!

Vientiane is an option provided you have a minimum of 3 months worth of bank statements showing 500k

If not, try Jakarta, or Manila

I submitted 3 months but only the most recent had 500k and was approved in Jakarta. There have also been reports of approvals with only 1 month.

Get the Visa there! Jakarta and Manila seem to be by far one of the best and quickest options! I got my dtv approved with Jakarta embassy just a few days ago. They don’t disappoint.

Indonesia processed and approved my application in. 2 working days. Of course I actually qualify for this visa and provided a detailed application.

This comment is really misleading! Indonesia is one of the best countries in Asia and easiest to get the DTV Visa. Just use the search bar and check for yourself. I also got my visa their approved just few days ago.
