TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing an issue where the Thai consulate claims they cannot verify sufficient funds for a visa application despite the user sending 20,000 euros. The consulate indicates they require evidence of at least 12,500 euros. A comment suggests that the user should ensure their bank statements or certifications clearly display their full name and account number to avoid misinterpretation and potential rejection of the visa.

Do you sent them the statements or a certification? Be careful with the statements because it has to show your full name and account number. If not shows, they can deny the visa.

Good luck!

Today in Vientiane they didn't accept statements without bank account number... Many people rejected. We were lucky to have the hotel near the Embassy and can print the new statements with the account number quickly and in the same day, because if not, you have to get another appointment and it's full for some weeks ahead. Maybe it depends on each Embassy.

Simply amazing that in 2024, with massive data breaches daily revealing social security numbers, address, credit scores, D.O.B., phone numbers, etc. they require financial account numbers. Mind boggling.

I agree with you, but sadly, they make the rules... If you want the DTV visa in Vientiane, you have to provide the bank statements that shows your name and account number.

Would not be surprised at all if this information is sold to a third party.

Yup - it is why you never give out business cards etc in Bangkok. Like clockwork a few days later there are calls from "Financial Advisors" and Insurance salemen. I worked for large company in Bangkok. At least 10 calls a day to office main number asking for put through to the foreigner by name (Linkedin research etc). The Thai staff would just say if you knew him you would know his number and hang up. :-)
