Hello, is it hard to go from an education visa to a DTV once the ED visa runs out?
Answer summary
Transitioning from an education visa (ED) to a digital nomad visa (DTV) in Thailand is generally straightforward. Users noted that after canceling the ED visa, you must leave the country and apply for the DTV, fulfilling all necessary requirements. Many suggest that previous visa history does not negatively impact the new application. It’s also recommended to apply at the Thai Embassy in another country, such as Hanoi, for convenience and to share recent experiences for better insights.

Need to leave the country and apply for the next visa. You cant just pass "go" and collect $200. Its a new visa, youll start over
I recommend applying through the Thai Embassy in Hanoi and then sharing your real experience afterward. It would be much more valuable and informative than relying only on theory or assumptions. Up-to-date firsthand experience is often more useful than speculation, especially when it comes to visa applications and embassy procedures, which can change frequently in practice.
Easy peasy. Cancellation letter and went to immigration a few hours before my flight, walked down to the airport and left on a plane. Came back with my DTV.
Cancel your extension of stay based on the ED visa. Leave Thailand and apply for the DTV. If you meet all the requirements you will get it, your previous visa history won't affect it.
