Hi folks I’ve booked a trip for oct 26 I am planning on getting the non o visa.should I apply now as not sure when it starts ie the day you receive it or the day you enter thailand.
Answer summary
The user inquired about the timing for applying for a NON-O visa for their upcoming trip to Thailand on October 26. There's confusion regarding whether the visa validity starts upon issuance or upon entry into Thailand. Several commenters highlighted that processing times can vary widely, from 1 to 5 weeks, and noted the importance of not entering Thailand until the visa application is fully processed. This necessitates careful timing for the application to ensure travel dates align.

They entered my name wrong and put my first name twice, in both the first name section and the middle name section, so it essentially says
In the meantime you can create another application and supply your documents, triple check it on every page. The moment your first application gets canceled you can press the submit button on the unsubmitted application.
Anonymous participant first the embassy needs to check your application, I don't know where you applied at but that might take up for a week. Then you need to apply again, they need to check your application again and make sure you are eligible for dtv. That could take a few days up to a few weeks. My application took 3 weeks + interview. The time is tight, 2 weeks might not be enough
Anonymous participant you can’t have two applications. The second one will be canceled if the first one is still being processed. So you might end up with two canceled applications. You won’t make the September trip. He will need to cancel. Maybe reschedule his move for October. Is he moving here without you?
I applied online, sir. I called the embassy here in Qatar, and she told me I can make a new application while waiting for the first application to be cancelled. but i dunno if she understood, so I want to double-check. I have sent an email to the embassy here in Qatar as well as the MOI in Thailand.
If your middle name is on your passport it needed to be on the application. It will probably be canceled Monday when someone does the first pass check of the application and documents, so may as well tell your husband now that you're going to have to spend the application fee again.
if your middle name is on your passport it is most likely that your application will be cancelled, you will forfeit the application fee and have to apply again.
Hi Sir Tod, thank you so much for your time and help. I won’t inform him about this, hehehe. I don’t want him to worry or have his plans with his friends ruined. 😄
I’ll take care of the fee. Thank you again, Sir. God bless!
Anonymous participant he is not allowed to enter Thailand during the whole application process, so probably he won’t be able to travel on the 3rd of September if he will have to reapply
