Hello everyone!

Is there anyone who applied for a DTV visa online with Kazakhstani passport? How long does it take to consider applications and approve them?

My husband and I have quite a situation. We got the tourist visa for 2 months, stayed for a month, then heard about the DTV visa. Left Thailand (because you need to be out of the country in order to apply) and went to our homecountry. Applied here online on Aug 12th (Monday), it's been 4 days and still no answer from the Consulate. The problem is - we have a flight back to Thailand on Monday Aug 19th😭 We overestimated the process of applying, thought it'd take less time, but here we are, waiting for any news and not knowing what to do with our flight. I see here people are sharing their experience with DTV and most of them waited for their approval for around 2 weeks🤯 We can't be here so long. Shall we cancel our flight to Thailand? Or can we still go even if DTV is still processing? Please help🙏

The Consulate is not picking up their phone (as usual), and not responding to our emails.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user asks about the processing time for a DTV visa applied for online with a Kazakhstani passport, expressing concern over a looming flight back to Thailand before receiving approval. The user mentions having applied on August 12 and receiving no response from the consulate after four days, raising anxiety about whether to cancel their flight. Multiple comments suggest the consulate might not be part of the e-visa system and advise considering cancellation or rebooking of travel plans due to the unclear timeline for visa approval.

Yes, it is best to cancel your flight and reevaluate.

as far as reports go, you can leave and still use your e-visa afterwards. Once it is issued it doesn't matter where you are. You could stil go to Thailand but you would need to leave and come back in to activate the dtv. You could do this with a border bounce

Yes, unfortunately🙈

Now it is (almost) weekend I am for 90% sure that you can't make it on time. My advise is cancellation or rebook your plane tickets.

It looks like the Thai consulate in Kazakhstan is not part of the e-visa system. Did you receive a receipt with a date that tells you when to pick up your passport? Confusing though Becusae you said you applied online.

It is, we applied online through e-visa, that's why we had to go back to our homecountry, in case they request any proof. On the website it says "Pending document check", we are just afraid we won't make it on time for our flight😬

- With the e-visa system, you have to select which country you are physically in (doesnt have to be your home country) and the application is then routed to that embassy. However, not all Thai embassies use the e-visa system. For embassies that do not use the e-visa system, you have to go in person. According to the Consulate's website for Kazakstan, they do not use the e-visa system. So if you are on Kazakh soil, you need to apply in person.
