TLDR : Answer Summary
To prepare for your Non O visa extension, you need to ensure that the 400k THB is seasoned in your bank account for a minimum of two calendar months prior to applying for the extension. You can submit your application when there are 30 days or less remaining on your current visa stamp. However, some immigration offices may allow for a 45-day window. It's also noted that during the processing period, the requirement to maintain the funds may vary, so be aware that you might need to show proof of funds again if your application process extends.

Just a note, the last time I got my marriage extension the 30 day under consideration period actually ended up being about 50 days. I made sure my funds stayed above the 400k threshold until I got the renewal. Immigration did not ask to see another print out to confirm my funds, but I have seen posts of guys stating they were asked to show proof of funds again as their under consideration period had been extended as well.

but yes I agree with what you are saying about not touching the banked money until you actually have your yearly EofS stamped in your passport. Because what the Immigration officer asks for on the day is what he wants and nothing else will do. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hi Jon so on your under consideration stamp in your passport it was dated 50 days must report back to office? Strange didnโ€™t you query the dated stamp

For the one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai female national, you will need to season the money for two calendar months before you apply for the extension of stay.

You can apply for an extension of stay based on marriage at most immigration offices when there are 30 days or less remaining on your current stamp (except for Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Buriram, Phuket, Chiang Rai, which allow for 45 days).

I have see it said many time that the extension can be applied for 45 days before the visa ends at phuket but this screenshot I took suggests its 30 days. This was update in March.

@Benjamin *****
after the 2 months seasoning, and after you apply for the extension, could you take out the money, or do you need to leave them there until you get the extension stamp?

@Mark *****
You should keep it in your account until after your "under consideration" stamp is closed out. There have been reports of people being asked for proof they have 400K THB in the account when they go and get the stamp closed out.
