Hi. So I have a 90 day Non O for retirement (07/12/2017 through 06/03/2018), just spent 2 weeks in Viet Nam, and came back on 01/04/2018. My 60 days seasoning period for my 800k THB deposited in a Thai Bank is due 02/05 I think. Is there a good reason to go later, or should I just go on the first day I am eligible to get the 1 year extension so I can just start using those funds? Thank you for any tips.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a 90-day Non-O visa for retirement and is wondering about the optimal timing to apply for a one-year extension, given the seasoning period for a bank deposit. A commenter mentions that applying within 30 days of the current visa's expiration is permissible and that applying on the eligibility date is advisable since the extension will simply add a year to the existing expiration date.

i sure hope you had a re-entry permit on that Non-O when you went to vietnam and came back ;)

Most immigration offices allow you to apply for a yearly extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp.

You're fine applying on the 5th of Feb if you want to. They ADD the year extension to your current expiration date so you don't lose any days by going early.
