Retirement Visa - Thanks to this forum,I arrived in Pattaya Sunday on a 3 month Non-O retirement valid till 3 June. I have bank account with 800k thats been there since 4 Feb. I also rented an apartment for a month. So far so good.

But I I now need to return to the UK on 7th April. I think I also need to be in last 45 days of my Non O visa before I can apply?

Does this mean I that the earliest I can apply is 18th April (45 days before end of my current visa) ? So I will have to start all over again on the next trip? I think that's the case but just confirming as each place appeas to have own rule? Thanks as always!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the process of applying for a retirement extension on their Non-O visa, which is set to expire on June 3. They plan to return to the UK on April 7 and inquire if they can apply for the extension only during the last 45 days of their visa, suggesting they might have to wait until returning to Thailand after this trip. Responses clarify that the user can maintain their Non-O visa with a re-entry permit if they return before it expires, and that they can indeed apply for the extension once they are in the last 45 days of their visa.

@Ken *****
the Visa is a 90 day non O based on retirement.

Then you apply for yearly extensions of that visa.

But if I apply in the last few days of my visa - say 4 days, thats ok? I'd get an exit permit on the way out of Thailand and return with just a few days remaining.

@London ****
correct

Correct you cant apply for the annual extension of stay until you are in the last 45 days. There is no way round that
Kool *******
Check with immigration because you are applying to get your one year extension you could be able to do that as soon as you meet all the requirements.

@Kool ******
1 year extensions of stay can only be applied for in the last 45 days of your current visa or extension of stay

If you're returning to Thailand before 3rd June all you need is a re-entry permit to keep your existing non imm O alive.
