Hi, I plan to come to Thailand for 3 months (88 days) and I hold a British passport. Was just wondering if I should turn up and get a visa on arrival. Or get a visa from England before I come.. thanks in advance

Get a single entry tourist visa from one of the thai consulates in the UK BEFORE you wing your way here. That will stamp you in for 60 days and you can extend that for 30 more days once you're here for 1900baht at the immigration office.

As an British Passport holder you can not get the 15 days Visa on Arrival. If you want to spent 88 days in Thailand the best way is to get the Single Entry Tourist Visa from a Thai consulate before you make your way into Thailand and get 60 days of stay on entry. Before this stay ends you can apply for an Extension of Stay at any Immigration Office for another 30 days.

Things has not changed, the free 30 days is called a Visa Exempt Entry and is not a visa. You can only extend this once with 30 days.
