TLDR : Answer Summary
UK passport holders do not qualify for a visa on arrival in Thailand; instead, they can enter visa-exempt for 30 days. This stay can be extended for an additional 30 days in Thailand. For a longer stay, a 60-day tourist visa can be obtained through the Thai embassy in the UK, which is also extendable for 30 days.

In UK it is very easy to get an eVisa on line. 60days+ a 30 day extension available in Thailand

It matters what passport you hold not where you travel from, but let’s say you hold a British passport then you don’t need a visa for a 30 day stay. And no, you can’t get a visa on arrival if you have a British passport.

UK passport holders can get a visa exempt entry for 30 days. You can extend that in country for a further 30 days.

VOA is for 15 or so nations including India and China. They get 15 days on arrival and cannot be extended.

A tourist visa that you buy from the London embassy would give you 60 days on arrival. Also extendable once for 30 days.

UK citizens don’t need a visa for less than 30 days. Kids under 15 can’t be fined for overstay. They’d get a stamp in their passport saying overstay but that holds no repercussions for future entries. That would save you £270.

usually from application it takes 2-3 working days. It’s valid for 90 days from issue.

You don’t go to the London embassy anymore it’s all done online.
