What should I do if my TM30 proof is not accepted at the Immigration Office in Thailand?

TM30 query!

I am currently leasing a place on Ko Lanta. I wanted to get a residency certificate, so I brought the screenshot of the TM30 page I got from my landlord

The screenshot said "check-in date from" 05.08, "check-in date to" 10.08.

I didn't think too much of it and went to Immigration Office yesterday. The officer told me that the screenshot is not a proof, because it says I checked out on 10.08, and I need a new TM30. He didn't want to check in system himself.

My landlord says that I am in the system properly, but the TM30 website requires to put in proper check-in date, and the second date needs to be less than 7 days apart. And she is unable to make a better screenshot.

I am a little puzzled on what to do now. I am thinking of trying again, this time also bringing a lease agreement and hoping to meet a different officer, but it's 2h ride, which in this weather is not much fun. But perhaps the officer was right, and something is amiss?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing difficulties at the Immigration Office regarding their TM30 documentation. They presented a screenshot from their landlord indicating their check-in and checkout dates, but the officer rejected it, claiming it was not sufficient proof. The landlord insists the user is properly registered in the system, but the TM30 site has strict rules regarding the check-in dates. The user is considering returning with additional documentation, such as their lease agreement, despite the inconvenience of the travel distance to the office.

For continuity - new TM30 did the trick, I received three certificates, one for each of my needs.

Same immigration officer, he actually turned out to be quite a nice person. Although he gave me jokingly glare when I first got certificates from him, then went to extend my visa, to which I was informed that now I have to go back and re-do all three certificates because my visa changed... Oh the joy of bureaucracy 😀

You can put any date in the checkout field or indeed just leave it blank. It’s not a required field.

The immigration officer is confusing it with the the search system, which when searching for the filing only allows 7 days.

Edit Apologies I mentioned your landlord was confused. I meant to type the immigration officer. I’ve updated the comment to reflect.

the landlord did all correct. He entered the "search date from to". That's the correct screenshot from the FN30 web page. A print from the Section 38 app looks better but you also need to register to get a sign in code.

my landlord says she put in proper data while submitting it. The problem I see is that screenshot with 7 days after check-in search option is not confirming it according to the immigration officer.

I assume there is no way to generate a TM30 proof after 7 days from check-in?

You’ll notice that nowhere on your screenshot above mentions check out date. The immigration officer is mistaken that the “search from and to date” is the days staying. It’s only the seven day window of when the filing was done.

Have them file a new one with todays date. Then search for it using from todays date to one seven days later. This will be enough to confirm to the misunderstanding IO that you’re still there.

done and done, she came to me with a laptop and resubmitted everything from today, it looked valid, and I have a screenshot with no doubts about validity.

Thank you, I really was thinking the officer is wrong about the screenshot, and I tried explaining it to him while I was still in the immigration office, but he didn't want to budge (and me being a foreigner is usually a losing position).

I'll try to see if I can get my landlord to refile it.

Your landlord did all correct. Go back to immigration and if you still have the problem nicely request to see a superior officer.

this time I will be also equipped with printed lease agreement and a phone number to my landlord in case they want to talk to her. Here is hoping next attempt will be OK.

Just go to a hotel/hostel for the night then go back to the immigration office tomorrow with the new TM30…after that work on the paperwork for the next 90 days
