So after reading multiple guides and being told by the staff at my building. I went to the police station to report a lost departure card prior to going to immigration. And now they said no need to worry if you have a stamp in your passport... Sigh.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster was advised by their apartment staff to report a lost departure card at the police station before visiting immigration. However, they were informed at the police station that having a stamp in the passport is sufficient, thus alleviating their initial worry.

You can easily get a replacement departure card at the immigration office on the bottom floor of the airport.

It's just my condo asked me to get one as they require to send it to immigration. I'm on my way there now to extend my visa and organise residency cert

There's a dude that works "off the books" and can get the residency certificate done in one day in Promenada for a 500 thb "fee." I've done it twice now (drivers license and bank account). Although I'm hearing here's on vacation. Bottom floor by the parking lot, close to immigration, right next to the copy place in an empty commercial space. It's not an agency. It's literally a one dude who sits in an empty space. You can't call him or email him. You simply walk in and hand him the documents. He looks at them, then asks for money. After you pay him, he says "tomorrow after 2pm" and then you walk out. No receipt, no small talk. The next day you walk in, he hands you cert, and you walk out. No smiles, all business.

The cert was only to get a bank account. I might just get a letter from a school I sign up for instead.

, Oh sorry :/ I thought you were in Bangkok my mistake. :(

There's some issue going on with the residence certificates up in Chiang Mai. Some people say the immigration office takes a month to mail them to you. There's some visa agency near the immigration office who can get them faster for 500 baht I believe..

I'm at promenada, same issue?

Remember those residency certificates at Chaengwattana cost 200baht and it can take a couple weeks to get it in the mail. They also tell you if you don't get it by one month to go back out there and check with them. They have a big box of residence certificates that get returned to them :/ Good Luck (y)

yeah, when your condo registers you as staying there they need the departure card number..

flying out without a departure card is fine, BUT more and more times IF you lose the TM.6 card and are trying to do something immigration related; 90 day reporting, extension of stay, re-entry permit etc. they'll send you to the police station to get a police report.

The up side is police reports are free and you're certainly not the first foreigner here to lose a TM.6 departure card since they stopped stapling them into your passport.

Did they give you a new departure card at the immigration office?
Kari ********
Last time I didn't have my departure card to get my extension of stay and they simply gave me a new one to fill out.

You also need the TM6 card to check into hotels

Yep the stamp in the passport is ok. Annoyingly I had a photocopy of it all before it got water damaged, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks

@Aa***
, if they can still read it, it shouldn't be a problem, especially not if the stamps in the passport are good. I had my passport in the washer for an our, nervous as hell when I had to extend my visa, but the stamps were still visible.
Robert *******
Police report is free, you pay 20 Thb for a copy.

The stamp has washed off my departure card, not completely but mostly. Will I have problems extending my tourist visa tomorrow?
Kris **************
Not free, but close enough. I paid 20 baht for a police report :)
Kris **************
Not a problem, you just fill out a new one when you fly out.

Come here first next time, that question have been ask a lot here! Np for ur departure card, if it doesn't involve money this is very far from their list of priorities.
