What should I do if I have lost my immigration landing card before renewing my visa in Thailand?

Hi everyone. We have lost the folder that has our documents in, nothing too important apart from our immigration landing card(the little paper slip) with the number on that they always ask for when you renew visas.

My question is, when we go tomorrow to renew our visa what will happen when we say we have lost them? Does it cause a problem or are they ok with it?Tomorrow is the last day to get the covid extension so we dont want to have an extra stress on our hands.

Thanks in advance?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has lost their immigration landing card, which is necessary for visa renewal in Thailand, and seeks advice on how to proceed. Commenters suggest that losing the card typically doesn't cause significant problems; one individual was able to get a replacement card at an immigration office by providing the number from a photocopy. Another commenter advises filing a police report for the lost TM6 card, which may be helpful for visa extension applications.

I lost mine and went to immigration office to be told no problem . I did know the number of the card as I had a photo copy of it , the iO got another landing card crossed out the number and wrote the original card number on it. Job done. That was in NaN office. As always depends on the office / officer.

, right, it depends on the immigration office. Some offices just give you a new one without any problem. Some offices require you to have a police report to give you a new TM6 card, for example, Bangkok.

Will a normal police station know what a TM6 is or will they give me a blank stare when I simply say "I've lost my TM6 card can you give me a report?".

Fyi we went and got the report with the help of a TM6 image and google translate. It took them a few phone calls and much deliberation about how to approach the online form they needed to fill out and took about an hour. They were nice about it and it was stress free... just hope the report they have given us is the correct one!

Tell them you lost your departure card, known as Immigration form 6.

And use this example I found on google

The best is to go to the police station and make the police report of the lost TM6.

Bring the police report to a local immigration office to apply for an extension.

Actually depends on your immigration office.

Some immigration office requires you to preesent a police report to issue a replacement card. Some other offices would just issue a new one.

they can totally ask you for a police report saying that you lost the TM6 card before they replace it

You can file a police report at any police station.

Worst case you don't get one, you go apply for the extension and then they make you leave and go to the station to file one and come back.
