Hi! I’m currently on a 60 day tourist visa and would like to apply for a 30 day extension but alas! I’ve just realised I can’t find my immigration card. Does anyone know the process for this? This has happened to me once before on a trip to Thailand but I just filled out a new one at the airport as I was leaving-but this is different as I’m applying to stay) any advice? Thanks, appareciate all the knowledge on here!

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you've lost your immigration card (TM6) while on a 60-day tourist visa and wish to apply for a 30-day extension in Thailand, you should first visit a police station to file a report about the lost card. Then, take that report to the immigration office where they may look up your old card's number and issue you a new one. However, experiences vary as some individuals have been able to obtain their visa extension without the card, as immigration offices can be flexible regarding this issue.

Ps- they didn’t issue me with a new one, buy I had no trouble getting the extension.

Hi all. Just wanted to update that I went to Samui immigration today and got my 30 day extension without my immigration card (TM6). They were very relaxed about it-seems like it’s a pretty normal occurrence. Not that I advise losing it to begin with. ;)

and that is how it's supposed to work (y)

it's a toss up on how the immigration office you use will handle it

Technically you're supposed to GO to a police station and file a report stating you lost the TM6 departure card, then take that to the immigration office and they will look up the number of the old one, get a new card and write that number on it

BUT

Some people luck out and immigrations just gives them a new card

SO it's luck of the draw on getting an extension what they'll do

Tod Daniels just a tip as I've had this situation before: if you have a picture of the card, immigration can search the number, and it fastens the process. This can ofcourse depend on the immigration office, for me this was Chiang Mai.

ok thanks Tod! I will go tomorrow and check it out! So frustrating as I showed it with all my other paperwork for my Day 1 and Day 5 test and go procedures and now it’s just gone *poof* ☹️
