TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice after applying for a Certificate of Entry (COE) at the London embassy but has not received any response. Various commenters share their experiences, suggesting persistence in contacting the embassy, checking spam folders for pre-approval emails, and noting that there is currently a holiday in Thailand, which may affect processing times. Some also mention the validity period for COE and express caution regarding travel arrangements under current requirements.

Don’t book while you are required to do one night SHA hotel with PCR. This is in effect a 24hr quarantine with the following possible scenario. 1 laboratories are unable to cope with new demand and take three days during which you have to extend your stay 2 the hotel gets your result but tells you it hasn’t to get you to stay another two days 3 the hotel is in cahoots with the laboratory and you test positive meaning fourteen days in the hotel 4 all extra days will not be at the booked rate likely +100% 5 in most cases your insurance will not pay for the hotel stay only medical treatment. ITS UP TO YOU. I suggest wait until this stupid one night requirement is removed. Most likely January

you forgot to mention the other scenario (with a 99% probability) - you stay in the SHA+ hotel for 1 night, test negative, and continue with your holiday. everyone travelling internationally during a global pandemic has to accept some uncertainy - the much bigger risk is that the virus situation changes suddenly and you get stuck on the wrong side of new restrictions.

It's a holiday weekend in Thailand, embassy staff stick with the Thai calendar.

I believe COE is valid for 15 days and supposed to be approved in 3 working days. That’d leave 12 days to prep for leaving.

COE is only valid for date of travel. You have 15 days from pre approval to complete the form and add all required documents.

I kept calling and calling until someone answered. Once answered, COE came in shortly after. My experience is from US.
