Reaching out for anyone doing the COE at the moment. I am from London so I am using the London embassy and I have registered my application for the COE. When I check the status it says the application is under consideration but at the same time I could upload my flight and ASQ details. Do you know if you get notified for a pre approval ? Any tip ? Do I wait to hear from them before uploading flight and hotel details ? The whole thing is confusing me. Thank you 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on the Certificate of Entry (COE) application process through the London embassy. Their application status is 'under consideration', and they are confused about whether they should wait for pre-approval notifications before uploading flight and hotel details. Community members suggest waiting for approval before committing to non-refundable hotel bookings, share personal experiences about the application timeline, and discuss the types of visas being applied for, specifically concerns around the STV and non-immigrant visa types.

What visa have you applied for ? I’m looking for the stv but they’ve said the U.K. won’t be acceptable due to it not being low risk.

I’m looking to stay for the full 3 issues of it then do a retirement visa after

yeah you need an employer to give you the documents you will need to apply for the visa otherwise it won’t work

thanks. I’m going to see, as I have an employer that is both Thailand and Malaysia based so it makes tax difference but I’m happy to pay if it means I can get there

I'm in the same position.

Just want to get to Thailand...

totally agree. They are doing the right thing but what does it matter whether the country you are in is high or low risk if you don’t have it and also have to pass all the tests

.... I have been very careful and would happily isolate before leaving UK if I knew I'd be able to go.

Currently my life is in limbo

same here. I’ve been isolating as I’m staying at my mums until I leave and have been away since

But all they seem to care about is what level of risk country which is crazy as they have Australia on there but they can’t fly out unless they have an exemption certificate which they can’t get the same goes for NZ

After I added the flight and ASQ it was apporoved in less than 2 days

Try to pick a hotel that doesn't want the full amount up front. My partner was set to book a hotel that wanted 5000 THB deposit and the balance paid on arrival (the airline cancelled 1 day before we were going to pay the deposit!). We were also told that in the event of cancellation, the deposit could be moved forward.
