Do I need a TM30 for a COVID extension if I'm staying in hotels and moving around Thailand?

Hi,

Thanks a lot in advance for your help !

I read on the previous posts that a TM30 is necessary when applying for a covid extension at Chaeng Wattanna office.

However I don't have a TM30 because:

- until now, I had a non B visa from BOI office and it seems that I was therefore exempted of the TM30 process

- from now, I don't have a permanent address anymore (I checked out from my condo and I'm on holidays, going from an hotel to another...)

Do you think it will be a blocking point ? Any advice ?

Some explanations on my situation: my work permit / non B visa will be cancelled at Sam Yan office on the 22nd of March, I will try to get the covid extension the day after, my intention is to stay a few weeks on holidays in Thailand before I definitely go back to my country in May (my justification will be that the vaccine ramp up is in progress in France so the situation should improve by mid of may ...)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is unsure if they need a TM30 when applying for a COVID extension since they are currently staying in hotels and do not have a permanent address. Several commenters confirm that a TM30 is necessary, but if the hotels they are staying at have filed it, they might already have a record. They suggest asking the hotels for proof of TM30 submission and caution that there are no exceptions to the TM30 requirement, even if they were previously exempt due to their work with a BOI company.

Print out what the hotel has. They will staple it to your application.

Thank you all. I will follow your advices and ask if the hotel where I will stay in BKK can provide me a proof of submission of the TM30 :-)

To my knowledge, there is no exception for the TM30 process. The TM30 is used to tell immigration where you currently live. All hotels file a TM30, and the landlord should file it as well.

Of course, if they file it or not is another story.

If I understand rightly you are not except because working for BOI company, you just didn't aware of that just because they don't require your TM30 when applying for extension/visa.

You might need TM30. Since the system is down currently, bring your hotel receipt/reservation when you go to CW to apply for an extension. Or ask your hotel if they have any proof of submitting TM30 for you. Worst case scenario is you have to go to MTT first to submit TM30 by yourself, the best scenario they don't ask you TM30 (There was a few reports that they weren't asked for TM30 receipt.)

Has your Non B been cancelled yet with Thai Immigration ?

@James *******
it will be done on Monday (at BOI one stop service)

The hotel you're staying in can give you a screenshot of the TM30 they filed for you.

Yes you will need the TM30...at CW

And likely if you are staying in hotels...it may already be on file.

Ask your hotel if it was.
