Is a hotel report required for a Covid visa extension in Thailand?

I just went to the Immigration Office in Nakhon Si Thammarat, want to apply for Covid Visa Extension, they told me they require not only the booking confirmation but also the report from hotel in the check-in day that I really stay there. Is it really required? When I came to Thailand on a TR Visa, nobody needed any report from the hotel I booked.

I'm sorry if this question appeared here already. I couldn't find anything via my phone.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Covid visa extension at the Immigration Office in Nakhon Si Thammarat, it is necessary to provide additional documentation beyond the booking confirmation. Specifically, the office requires the TM30 form that your hotel submitted upon your check-in, which confirms your stay at the hotel. If this form is not available, you may ask the hotel to provide an email or document they sent to immigration.

What the immigration office is asking for is the TM30 the hotel submitted when you arrived. Go to the hotel and ask them to pull up the TM30 they submitted for you, or an e-mail they sent to the immigration office saying you're staying there.

Thanks. The problem is that I'm not sure about the place of my stay for longer. Do I need to book the hotel for 30 or 60 days and stay there for such a long time?

If you're staying at the property then the owner or leaseholder should be filing the TM30 for you. They should have done it when you moved in

Last time I booked something for my passport was on 3rd of april. I'm not sure if the TM30 report is still valid. What do you think?
John **********
@Raphael ******
I think you should get a TM30 filed for where you currently live asap

Ok, I can book a hotel today for one night and make sure that they prepare TM30.

@Rap****
that is what people have done in the past to meet the proof of TM30.

So I'd say book the hotel, check in, get the TM30 from them, go apply for your extension and you should be set.

A TM30 is a report that is filed by the property owner when you arrive in a location. It should be filed no later then 24 business hours after you arrive.

You do not need to show any pre-booked hotels payment, or rental agreements, to get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19

Ok, thank you, sounds more clear but what if I stay in this hotel only for one night, is it enough?
Benjamin ******
@Raphael ******
That's good enough

One more thing. If my current Visa ends at 7th of May, does this mean I should arrive at this hotel on 7th of May or 8th of May and get the TM30 reported? Or can I do that earlier than these days?

@Raphael ******
you have to get TM30 from your current place and apply for an extension on or before 7 May. Otherwise, you will be on overstay after 7 May.

Ok, that makes sense, is there a strict validity period of that TM30 - before Visa applying or current Visa end?

@Raphael ******
you need a TM30 receipt for application for your next extension...

Ok, thank you. Got it. That was not clear for me before.

it sounds like you are shopping for a Immigrarion office...

You should already have a valid TM 30 filed by the hotel or landlord where you are now staying. It's required within 24 hours of arrival at that address.

Pardon me... I think you are not telling us the whole story and why you are now asking if one night hotel stay will be OK .

Where are you now and what immigration office are you supposed to be using ?

Why the need to now file a TM30 if you are now in a hotel?

Thanks for your response.

Yes, right, let me explain. Currently I am temporarily staying at my friend's rented apartment. I know that it is also possible to get the TM30 report from the house owner, however we do not want to bother the house owner, he might not like the idea, because it may look to him that I am going to stay here long time which is not true. I hope it is more clear now.

The city I am staying is Nakhon Si Thammarat, I visited the provincial immigration office here today but I found it really hard to understand what they require from me.

Either your friend needs to report you to the immigration office on the TM30, OR the house owner. The law is clear for some immigration offices; the TM30 must be filed no later then 24 business after after a person arrives. It doesn't matter how long they stay at the property.

Robert Lagas wrote an excellent FAQ about the TM30:
