Hello! I arrived in thailand with an exemption of visa in February 9th and I already asked for a visa extension of 30 days (from march 9th to april9th) i need now an extension due to Covid 19. I am currently on koh yao noi island. I read contrary advises to obtain an extension. Some said I will have an automatic extension without having the obligation to go to Phnang Na immigration, others said I need to go with 9 documents such as location contract of my landlord, his id, pictures of me in the house etc.. does somebody know what is the right information please? Thank you ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks information on visa extension procedures in Thailand due to COVID-19, having already extended their visa for 30 days and currently residing on Koh Yao Noi Island. Conflicting advice has been received regarding whether an automatic extension is available or if they need to present specific documents at the immigration office. Responses clarify that no automatic extensions exist and that they must visit the local immigration office with a request letter from their embassy and may need additional documentation.

NO AUTOMATIC Extensions exist.

>others said I need to go with 9 documents such as location contract of my landlord [...]

Ask your local immigration office what their specific requirements are. You WILL NEED a letter from your embassy requesting the extension, AND you will get UP TO 30 days.

Automatic extensions were NOT approved (yet).

Get the letter that requests you get an extension from your embassy and go to the immigration office that serves the area where you stay,

The requirements you mention were from Trat immigration office.

post on one of the island groups to get the exact requirements for your office.
