TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is facing difficulty with the Thai e-Visa application, which requires the Thai ID of someone they are staying with, despite planning to stay in a hotel for a two-month holiday. Community responses suggest providing hotel details instead of an ID, using the hotel name, reservation number, or even uploading their own passport if necessary. They also discuss the importance of booking an ASQ hotel package due to COVID-19 regulations, and they clarify the visa exemption for UK citizens.

Yes, and if you get stuck (I think uploading your hotel reservation should be sufficient) you can extend your visa exempt 30 day stay by another 30 days through a visit to the Thai Immigration Bureau and paying a 1900 Baht fee (about US$58). A bit of time out of your day, but wanted to be sure you don’t miss your holiday here. Safe travels

You need to book an ASQ hotel that includes test and go package OR is in the Phuket sandbox. You can’t get a thai pass without booking that hotel package. More info

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but don't people from England get into Thailand without a Visa?

People from UK get visa exemption for 30 days, e-visa gives you 60 days

You won’t be able to land without a quarantine package. It’s one night only in a hotel while you wait for your PCR test results. The package includes hotel, car to the hotel and Covid test and horrible food. I just arrived today. There is a massive list of hotels on the ASQ website, choose one you like. Make sure you sort bf price

Leave it blank if it lets you or just write your hotel name if it doesn’t. They don’t expect you to know someone in thailand as a tourist. The same form is used for many visa types and some would require that information.

Just put the name/phone/address of the hotel you're staying at. Make up a number for the ID card, they don't care about it.
