I’m in the process of applying for  for a non “O” visa. Just got my visa with a 90 days extension and next step to apply for a one year extension. However, I can only apply for this one year extension 45 days from the start date of 90 days visa chop - and that’s where I screwed up. The earliest I can put in the application is on 22/06. However we are leaving for Europe on 21/06 and wont be back till 9/08. Flight are not changeable at this stage. The worse that can happen is I need to start the process all over again when I get back in August. I can live with that if this is the worse but obviously I’m hoping for a way around this. Anyone has any relevant experience or advise. Would the visa agencies be able to help? Thanks!

Presuming you are outside Thailand

You have the Single entry 90 day - Non-O

Before you can do any extension - you need to be here & open a Thai Bank account & have the required funds in that account for 60 days

No I’m already in Bangkok. Had been for the last few years. Money been in the bank for a year now so no problems on that front..and can keep that rolling.

Adrey Low you can apply for your one year extension as soon as the bt800,000 has been in your Thai bank account for at least two months. You say the money has been in your account longer than that so directly ask immigration if you can apply immediately for your one year extension. It is best to deal with immigration directly, not relying on hearsay, and rumors from FB.

Thanks. I did ask them when I collected my 90day visa chop and they plainly said no and said I will have to forfeit my visa and come back on tourist visa and start the process all over again. They were so inflexible!

You could also just apply for a new 90 day Non-O visa before you return to Thailand and assuming you already have a Thai bank account with the required funds apply for the 12 month extension of stay before the 90 days you get stamped in for runs out

Yes, many agents can do an extension earlier than 45 days. But take note that if you use an agent to get an "early" extension, you will also have to use an agent next year. When the immigration office sees that you have an "impossible" extension in your passport, with a date on the extension stamp that is earlier than 45 days, they will tell you to go back to your agent.

Not sure I can stomach the whole process again unless the fee for using an agent just to complete this part of the process is very high.
