Hi

Just to share information, this morning I went to immigration in Nonthaburi asking about my husband visa.(Non-O) as his visa already extended 60 days in April. The officer told me after 31 July if still can not get any flight back home so thing can be like these

- Still has 7 days after 31 July to stay without any charge

- Embassy letter needed to extend visa but with the good reason why extend

for my husband case is his country airport is still closed

- Wait for an announcement soon. (SOMETHING POSITIVE)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience regarding a Non-O visa extension for their husband at the Nonthaburi immigration office. They were informed that there are options available after 31 July, including a 7-day grace period without charge, but an embassy letter would be required for further extensions with a valid reason, such as closed airports in their home country. Additionally, a comment clarified that the 7-day extension must be applied for and costs 1,900 Baht.

For the 7 day extension you need to apply. You won't get them automatically and it's 1900,- Baht for that extension.

Nobody said its a 7 day extension.

Legally speaking there is NO 7 day extension... one applies for 30 days (lets say)... and when denied u r given 7 days to leave.

So its sorta like an emergency extension based on being denied.

Now the IO might've meant:

If u book a flight home... but the avail flight is Aug 3rd (lets say)... and u r in OVERSTAY for 3 days... we won't charge you.

Since flights are limited it would make a lot of sense not to charge overstay to all that leave during the 1st week of Aug.

Just a speculation tho

As there is no announcement whatsoever, and this could not be issued until final day of amnesty, this seems dreamed up.
