Is my understanding of using a Non-IMM O visa and family visit extension in Thailand correct?

Please confirm if my understanding is correct.

I received a Non-IMM O visa (married to Thai wife) with multiple entry.

I entered Thailand on 6/4/23 and departed on 8/31/23 (89 days).

My plan is to return to Thailand on 11/1/23 and get stamped in for 90 days. Before the 90 days expire, I plan to leave Thailand to visit a neighboring country (probably Laos) for about a week, then return to Thailand and get stamped in for another 90 days before returning to the USA on or about 3/1/24.

Your plan would work no issue. Just be sure with the date on the stamp every time you enter/get stamp.

Be sure to carry Copy of your Evisa with you. As it's not a stamp in your passport.

These are the common found requirements for the 60 day family visit extension of stay at your local Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

I will try to reply to your post...

Your plan is fine...

Be AWARE that your US passport expires in August 26, 2024.

The date you wish to leave Thailand to Enter Laos and to reenter Thailand needs to have 6 months validity remaining of your US passport each entry.

And it's also possible, as you are Married to Thai, for you to get a 60 day family visit extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

Doing that gives you planning options for your use of your Non O multi-entry Visa as Married to Thai.

You are eligible for the family visit extension Each entry into Thailand.

Suggest you get a NEW US passport when you arrive into Thailand on your next trip.

As getting a New passport is easy from the US Embassy in Bangkok. All done by MAIL and takes ONLY a few weeks vs several months if done in the USA.

, Thailand doesn’t have 6 months validity of passport for entry rules. EVEN IF 6 months passport validity was executed, it’s not applied to foreigners with a valid visa.
