Good morning everyone. I entered Thailand on the 30th of August on an Multi Entry OA Retiree Visa. My first in person 90 day report at Chang Wattana Immigration Division 1 Government Complex is due by the 29th of November. I will be flying back to America for the Thanksgiving holiday on the 24th of November returning home to Thailand on the 5th of December. Does my 90 days start over on the 5th of December or would it be wise to do my report prior to departing on the 24th of November? Also do I need to do anything at Suvarnabhumi before my departure with immigration or because I have a multi entry visa will I be ok to just fly out and return no problem? I do have my proof of health insurance coverage along with my visa approved letter for my return. Thank you for all your help, I appreciate it!!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a Multi Entry OA Retiree Visa, inquires about their obligation for the 90-day reporting requirement before departing Thailand for the Thanksgiving holiday. They want to know if they need to report to immigration before their departure on November 24th or if their reporting period resets upon their return on December 5th. Responses indicate that the 90-day reporting starts anew upon re-entry into Thailand and since they would be departing just 87 days after their arrival, a report is not necessary before leaving. It is also advised that no re-entry permit is needed for their visa type in the first year, but it is good to keep proof of health insurance and the visa approval letter handy.

24th. November is 87 days after arrival so no 90 day report needed.

The day you return your 90 days starts again being Dec. 5. which takes you through to March 3, at which time you will need to do your report, assuming you haven't left the Thailand in the mean time.

1. Your New 90 day report time period will begin the day you ARRIVE INTO THAILAND.

2. I assume that you are in the FIRST YEAR of the OA visa for retirement that was issued using the Evisa online application system.

3. IF your OA visa is in its first year of issue, then it is multi-entry... And no Re-entry permit is needed.

Remember that during the second year of the OA visa it requires a Re-entry permit to return to Thailand and preserve the ending date of the OA.

Be sure to PRINT OUT the Evisa email you received. Show it to the Thai Immigration Officer upon arrival into Thailand.

Good morning James, I have my

E Visa downloaded on my phone. When I arrived in Thailand on the 30th of August, Immigration accepted my E Visa on my phone with no print out.

pardon me but that is not wise to count on using your phone as proof of your OA Evisa.

And the airline staff also may ask to see proof of your having a retirement Visa.

Especially as you are planning on using the Re-entry benefit of the OA visa as you visit other SE Asian countries.

SIMPLY PRINT OUT 2 COPIES.

Keep them in safe place with your documents.

That's peace of mind šŸ¤—
