TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking information regarding the paperwork needed for traveling to Thailand from Australia in May, particularly for a 3-6 month stay at their own condo. Comments provide insights into visa options such as the STV (Special Tourist Visa), mentions of necessary documentation like health insurance, accommodation in SHA+ hotels, and COVID-19 testing requirements, while noting that rules may frequently change and should be verified closer to travel dates.

In May?! Yes you’re going to need all 6 vaccinations. Two PCR tests. One before boarding plane and one when disembarking. Three skill testing questions on the history of Thailand. A blood, urine, stool, semen sample. (Just give them your underwear for that one.) 150,000 THB Insurance.

That should just about cover it but check back in May to be sure. 🙄

Hi

Depending where you are flying into and if you are fully vaccinated

These are the rules for Phuket I m not sure of the rules for flying into Bangkok

If you are fully vaccinated

at the moment you need a visa for that amount of time, covid and health insurance, accommodation in a Sha plus hotel for one night, booking for a covid test when you arrive in Thailand at the moment these are being done at the airport then you have to go directly to the hotel you are staying in, the hotels usually arrange the transport as they have to be Sha plus drivers. After you have booked your hotel and test you can then upload the Thai pass the hotel usually give you the link.

Theses are the requirements that start 1 March, so could change again closer to the date you are coming in. Also need a test in Australia for airlines.

If your not vaccinated you have to do quarantine

Hope that helps

Have you looked into visa.

Probably STV is a good one for you as you already have accomadation.

Thats valid for 90 days from issue so you can start sorting that out soon.

The rest as you say it changes all the time look at entry requirements in April.

@Michael *******
The problem with a STV is you cannot extend it after you have used the first 90 days and the 2 extensions

@Yvonne ********
You can extend your STV 2x90 days after your initial 90 days. Total, around 9 months.

@Steve ******
On the STV it’s asking for your address for the whole time you were in Thailand. What would you put if you plan on traveling and don’t have a permanent address

@George ******
if you read there post they have a condo in Thailand for them this visa is perfect. For others yes its not good for travelling but if you look at the topics under STV there are ways around it

yes and now rest of posts look out of place.

But the person who posted doesnt want to stay more than 270 days. They have there own place in Thailand this visa is perfect for them.

I know a few people who have there own place and spend winters in Thailand and summers in Europe. Before they would do a retirement visa the STV is actually better as they dont need to keep financials in place.

Its not for everyone but for there situation its perfect
