What do I need to know about the STV visa regarding quarantine, accommodation, and health requirements?

Hey all, had a few questions about the STV (I plan on staying 6-9 months):

1) If I'm fully vaccinated I know I qualify for the single night Test&Go. Does that apply for the STV or is there still a 7/14 day required quarantine?

2) Accommodation. I plan on renting a condo but would like to be able to see and choose my place in person. But the STV requires a fully paid stay...I would just book then cancel a hotel with Agoda, but (to my understanding) that won't work? Suggestions?

3) Does the Fly and Fit Certificate suffice for the health check?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The STV (Special Tourist Visa) allows for entry into Thailand with the Test&Go option for vaccinated travelers, eliminating the need for a 7/14 day quarantine. However, travelers must provide proof of accommodation payment and require a medical certificate, not a 'Fit to Fly' certificate, to meet entry requirements. There are nuances regarding booking accommodations and necessary documents, so referring to expat forums for detailed guidance is recommended.

1) Test& Go doesn't limit the type of visa.

2) If you can show the full payment, not just bookings, It should work. (you may need to show requirement documents upon arrival)

3) Medical certificates and Fit&Fly are different. The requirement is as below a sample from the embassy in DC, the USA.

"2.10 A Medical certificate showing no prohibitive diseases. The certificate shall be valid for no more than three months as indicated in Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535). "

The form is here:

I have just received my stv and I did not have to have a medical certificate just health insurance to cover my stay

I am fully aware of the difference between the stv and the setv.

I used the long stay up to 90 days as an option on the Thai London embassy page.

This directs you to the stv application page

There are 12 conditions that require you to submit evidence, some of these are duplicated ie photo of passport - proof of residency

Sha+hotel

Flights

Insurance proof of funds etc

At no time are you asked for either a police check or a medical certificate(which is why I chose this visa as its near impossible to see a doc in the UK at the moment)

@Gerald *******
, are you talking about Special Tourist Visa (STV: you will be stamped for 90days upon entry) or Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV: You will be stamped for 60days upon entry)? They are different, but people often mix up STV with SETV.

its required...but somehow overlooked by your Thai Embassy ??

"2.10 A Medical certificate showing no prohibitive diseases. The certificate shall be valid for no more than three months as indicated in Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535). (Click here to download the form)"

There's nothing easy or convenient about the STV. The group James recommended will go into more detail, but most of what you asked is not possible with STV.

1...Test N Go one night stay entry is available to STV visa holders.

2. The fit to fly certificate is.no longer needed...but there is a medical certificate needed with the STV visa. Its easily available....ask your doctor or on the forum listed below.

3...Meet the stated requirements for the STV visa and you will get it.

Suggest you ask questions about housing, the medical certificate

and Thailand Pass on this helpful forum...

You do know that the STV visa cannot be changed into any other visa inside Thailand.
