Hello there, I plan to go to Phuket to visit my 3 year old son and my partner soon after two years apart, they are Thai Nationals.

I am in Australia and am not fully vaccinated.

I am doing the form but not sure what dates I put on number 14.

For not fully vaccinated travellers, do you get insurance and book an SHA hotel for 5 days and just arrive in Thailand?

Any help would be appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from Australia planning to visit their Thai partner and child is unsure about the entry requirements into Thailand as an unvaccinated individual. Discussions clarify that bookings must include a SHA-approved hotel for quarantine, necessary travel insurance, and preparation for the Thailand Pass application. Additional comments touch on recent changes to travel permissions from Australia and insights from travelers on navigating quarantine and visa requirements.

Gary . I used a travel agent . I’m in Brisbane .

Flying to Singapore, I need to test prior according to their current Covid laws . Then on arrival to Bankgok stating at the holiday in , SHA quarantine approved , test again , and I’m vaccinated.

No visa required for us as a 2 week visit only .

ok I wasn't sure if test required prior I thought they changed that.

I need a visa as I plan to stay longer as I haven't seen them for so long.

I says I need 5 days quarantine.

I know that it all varies on the country landing in not the country you’re leaving from

I thought Australia switched to the evisa system? Do they even accept paper applications anymore??

But 14 is pretty self explanatory. When will you arrive and leave Thailand. You generally need to know dates or at least have an idea, especially since visas don't last forever.

Also no you don't just book a hotel and show up.

You need to book quarantine hotel, get insurance, and meet all other requirements to apply for a Thailand Pass to enter the country.

I know that but not all countries visas ask specific dates so though thought I'd ask. I know rough dates.

, additionally, if I had to do it all over again, I would book directly from the hotel AND I would get a reference from this group, a hotel somebody has had a good experience.

When I booked I went through Agoda. ThaiPass, Agoda, and hotel was a nightmare situation, I dont recommend it.

This requirement ends 18th of April according to government website.

no it doesn't. They are changing the rule so you don't have to apply for a new Thai pass if you have to change your flight, within 7 days of the original date.

You still need a Thai pass to enter the country.

Don't you need permission to leave Australia first?
