Hi Everyone. Im on a non b visa before and got laid off my job. I went to immigration yesterday and been told that i cant get a non O visa under my Thai son. They said that i will need to go out of the country as im in non B visa before. Any suggestion what i can do? My Thai boyfriend did ask the immigration and informed that i can get a 60 days extension first. I have letter from Philippines embassy. Thank you ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, who is currently on a non-B visa and has been laid off, seeks advice on obtaining a non-O visa through their Thai son. They were informed by immigration that they need to leave the country. Comments suggest two potential solutions: applying for a 60-day visit extension as a parent of a half-Thai child, or obtaining a 30-day extension with a letter from the embassy. Additionally, it is mentioned that after receiving the 60-day extension, the user can apply for a non-O visa on the basis of supporting their half-Thai child.

You only need to embassy letter for the 30 day 'amnesty' extension

You don't need it for the 60 day family visit extension (but will need other documents which you should get a list of)- this is probably the easier and better option for now.

well spotted
@Phi***
(y) the O/P does NOT need the embassy letter to get the 60 day visit thai family extension AND in fact showing them that letter might make the immigration officer think they want the 30 day embassy request letter.

Once you get a 60 day visit thai family extension you then could apply for a Non-O visa based on supporting a half thai child because you'd be on a hard stamp extension and have the time to apply for the in country 90 day Non-O visa.

Thank you so much for the information ๐Ÿ™

You CAN get a 60 day visit thai family extension if you are the parent of a half thai child. GO apply for that, OR get a letter from your embassy and apply for the 30 day embassy request extension. Those are your two options right now.

Thank you ๐Ÿ™ Do i need to apply it now or i can do it before 26th September?

@Maan *****
you need to do it BEFORE the 26th BUT I'd say go now, because it's gonna get crazy at the immigration office nexte week

No matter when you go the 60 day extension will be dated from the 27th of Sept and you'll get to stay until Nov 25th.
