Hi all.I am currently on Non O year extension based on marriage and with a work permit. I’m becoming more and more certain that I’m going to have to leave for a period to seek work elsewhere. My visa runs till Sept 9th.If I am still away, what are my options especially with the current situation?Could I apply for a non O 3month or simply come back as a tourist through sandbox or SAMUI plus. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing the need to leave Thailand while holding a Non-O visa extension based on marriage, which expires on September 9th. They seek advice on their options if they are unable to return before this date. Comments suggest two potential paths: applying for a 90-day Non-O visa upon returning or obtaining a 60-day tourist visa followed by a Non-O application. There are also considerations about the timing of the extension and potential costs of returning with expired documentation.

For how long do you think you want to stay away? Maybe you should do your extension of Non O and work permit nevertheless so you dont need to deal with the higher costs when you come back with expired everything?

If you're not gonna make it back in time to file for a new yearly extension of stay (by Sept 9th) then you could do either; apply for a 90 day non-O visa based on marriage to a thai OR apply for a 60 day tourist visa and then apply for the 90 day Non-O once you get back

Whether you can come in thru one of those "litter-box" programs they're beating the horn and tooting the drum about is not a visa related question though so you're on your own with that :O However I see no reason why you couldn't enter that way on either visa option

, yep, the second you don't hold a visa/extension that you can have a work permit on it'd be invalid. (no matter how long it said it was good for in the booklet) '
