Good morning, I am currently on a 30 day visa exempt as I arrived in Thailand before the new rules started. Unfortunately due to circumstances my new school couldn’t Transfer my visa. Therefore I will be applying for a new non b. However I am married to a Thai citizen and mother to a Thai girl. I am just trying to figure out my best options:

1) Apply for a new non b at Vientiane?

2) Am I able to apply for Non O based on marriage or being a mother to a half Thai child in Thailand? Or will I need to apply at an embassy consulate outside Thailand as this will be my first time applying for this visa as I have been previously on a Non B?

3) Will I be able to get a work permit if I am on a Non O visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 30-day visa exemption in Thailand and is exploring options for applying for a Non B visa or a Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai citizen and being a mother to a half-Thai child. The responses suggest that she can apply for a Non O visa based on her marriage in Thailand and that this visa will allow her to obtain a work permit. Additionally, she can apply for a work permit while on a Non O visa, and if applicable, she may first need to secure a 30-day tourist extension before converting her visa.

bring husband to immigration, you will get 60 days extension for 1900b. than go apply for non o (try to bring all documents and 6 pics of you in your house.)

You can apply for a Non O in Thailand based on being married to a Thai citizen and also apply for a work permit based on being married in Thailand.

I don’t have a complete overview regarding the process here, but when you’re able to get a Non O, extension of stay and work permit based on your own personal situation, it’s definitely more convenient than having your whole stay in the “hand” of your employer on a Non B.

You can also apply for a Non B and change to extension of stay based on being married to a Thai citizen for your second year. Non O based on marriage allows a work permit.

You can apply for a work permit while on a marriage visa/extension. And since you are a woman married to a Thai man, you have no financial requirements for these. I would say that is your easiest option.

You'll need at least 14-21 days depending on your immigration office to apply to convert to the non-O visa so you might need to apply for the 30 day tourist extension first. Go to your immigration office and check with them.
