TLDR : Answer Summary
Kevin Monaghan seeks advice on applying for a visa to Thailand, as he struggles with online forms and has a flight on November 16th. Community members suggest starting with a tourist visa and express concerns about current border restrictions and vaccination requirements, mentioning that Malaysia is currently closed except for limited locations. They recommend contacting Trunk Travel for assistance with the visa process.
Get tourist visa first if you want to stay until March.
Border runs like you imagine are not happening at the moment but by the time your visa is ending, there could be borders open maybe by air only but nobody knows.
Are you fully vaccinated because if your not it will be difficult and expensive and if allowed to cross borders in Asia.
not possible at the moment, if you did that I suspect you would be subject to quarantine requirements unless you make the trip by air and are double vaccinated. Border bounces will become a thing of the past.
so 4 and a half months. Do you meet any of the non-immigrant visa requirements? Tourist visa plus extension will get you 90 days so as things are right now you'd need to leave after 90 days and no land borders are open.
Are you traveling from a safe country? If you are vaccinated and travelling from a safe country I wouldn't want to mess up my 1 day quarantine by spending 1 week in another. You are making it really hard on yourself with this week Ghana I think.
take your loss, skip the Ghana trip. You should go for months anyway;). Or stay longer in Ghana and figure it out from there. This week is just not making sense right now with all the shit you need for entering Thailand.
I actually think its impossible but other people might know better. My guess is that you need to apply for a Thai Pass from Ghana and that can also take 7 days. Plus you then now need to arrange a 7day quarantine (Ghana is not on the safe list right?). Oeffffff, like I said, Im not an expert but this seems like a whole lot of trouble. Maybe stay longer in Ghana so youll have some time to figure it out?
...... who to contact and what i need before I go into any forms I'm hopless with this kinda stuff and don't want to end up stranded with no paperwork or the wrong paperwork
