Do I need a police background check for a tourist visa to Thailand that I will convert to a non-B visa for teaching?

Hello all, I had a quick question about police background checks. I am hoping to enter Thailand on a tourist visa and convert to a non b when I secure a teaching job. I am a US citizen. I was wondering if it is required for me to get a police background check in order to get the visa. If so would a FBI background check like the one at this link be enough for the requirement? [members only]/#/ Is it required for me to get a background check in the US or can this be done in Thailand with the Thai police? Or both? If I get the background check here in the US does this need to be authenticated or notarized in some way? Does a regular check work or does it need to specifically refer to working with children or something? Thanks for the advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the requirement of a police background check for entering Thailand on a tourist visa and converting it to a non-B visa for a teaching job. They asked whether an FBI background check would suffice, if the check must be obtained in the US or can be done in Thailand, and if it needs to be notarized or authenticated. Comments suggest that FBI background checks are acceptable and notarization may not be necessary, with some contributing their personal experiences.

Have you done "any" research?

I got mine for a retirement visa from the FBI and the State of Hawaii just in case. No mention of a notary required.
