I currently have a work permit and business visa for the last year and 1/2 through a company I recently sold my shares in. The remaining owners of the company plan to close the company soon. But I am not sure of the timetable.
I am aware that if a company doesn’t cancel someone’s work permit and then I leave Thailand without a re-entry permit which effectively cancels my non-b visa. It can flag up on the system and then they will receive a fine.
What is the process to ensure they don’t get this fine when I leave to get a DTV in about 2 weeks. Do they simply need to inform the labour department to cancel my work permit? I want to try and inform them of the process to make it as easy for them to complete. As they are a small company with limited knowledge about these matters.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for guidance on how to ensure their previous employer cancels their work permit and Non-B visa before leaving Thailand. They plan to leave in about two weeks for a DTV. Comments suggest that the process includes getting a termination letter, visiting the Labor Department to cancel the work permit, and optionally informing Immigration. It's important to cancel the work permit before leaving to avoid fines for the remaining company owners.
