I am living in Thailand on a DTV visa. I am getting close to my 180-day mark. What is the most hassle-free method to renew my 180days? Can I just do a border run? Recommendation/ advice welcomed :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
To renew your DTV visa close to the 180-day limit, a hassle-free method is to leave Thailand and re-enter, often referred to as a 'border run'. It's suggested to confirm if you've completed your TM30 registration and TM47 90-day report, as this could impact your renewal process. There are various low-cost flight options to neighboring Southeast Asian countries, or you might consider traveling by land to countries like Laos or Cambodia for quick renewals. Engaging with a visa agency can also simplify the process.
DMK to Vientiane, mini bus to Vang vieng , tubing, free shots return.

It would help to know WHERE you are living in Thailand?
Did you ever file a TM30 address registration with your local Thai Immigration office when you first arrived in Thailand?
Did you file the TM47 - the 90 day report when you were in Thailand for the first 90 days?
The easiest way to get the New 180 day STAMP is to fly out and reenter. There are low cost flights βοΈ to neighbor SE Asian nations. And is a great way to enjoy a holiday away exploring the many cities and sites in SE Asia.
Hey kindly help me. I arrived in Bangkok on 31 August and still in Bangkok. Kindly let me know if I only need to do a 90-reporting (TM47)? Also, what is TM30 address registration? When I landed in Bangkok, I stayed in a hotel, but now I rented an apartment for a month.
if you stay in a hotel, They will have filed a TM30 address registration for that date.
Then when you ARRIVED in your apartment, the owner was responsible for filing the TM30 address registration with Thai Immigration. However many don't as they don't want to have to pay taxes on the rental income.
BUT when you go to the Thai Immigration office to file the TM47 90 day report, the Immigration Officer likely will see if you have a TM30 address registration on file with them.
Then they may have you get the TM30 address registration and owner documents for the TM47 filing.
Await the advice from the Thai Immigration Officer when you go to file a TM47 90 day report.
Do you have a DTV Visa?
If you do AND have Bangkok in your residence address, go to the main Thai Immigration office.
You can go to file 15 days before the 90th day...or WITHIN 7 days after.
Go before if possible.
OR...
When will you be leaving Thailand?
In rereading your post you arrived on August 27th...
Check with your property owner...
Ask them if they filed a TM30 address registration form ?
Your 90 Day TM47 report is due 89 days from your arrival date... which counts as Day #1.
VERY good π Thank You for your helpful reply β

"Can I just do a border run?" You don't know have any knowledge of the visa you currently are under.
Did you even do a 90 day report? My guess is no

Anonymous participant 523 havenβt done a 90 day report in 4 years (waiting for the angry little Frenchman to comment in fury at this as he normally does) no repercussions even when switching visas with immigration etc
