I have the DTV Visa and planning on getting an extension at Bangkok immigration whilst out there but I cant find out what documents I need. In the past with the 60 day tourist visa I got a 30 day extension. I just needed to fill out a form, bring passport, passport photos and pay a fee. Is it the same when getting a 180 day extension with the DTV? Also after getting the extension and almost staying out there for a year can I do a border run instead of taking a flight home?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your DTV Visa for 180 days in Bangkok, it appears you might need to resubmit all initial documentation, including proof of financial resources (such as bank statements showing at least 500,000 THB). However, some users suggest that simply doing a border run might be a more straightforward option, allowing you to obtain a new 180-day stamp upon re-entry without extensive paperwork.

Someone posted they had to resubmit all their initial documentation for the DTV including bank details with 500k in for a month. I think the advice to just do a border run is good.

Just do a border run. It's easy and you don't have to do any paperwork or anything, just show your DTV letter. When you return you'll get another 180 day stamp.

Just do a border run most easiest way and you have an other 180 days
