180 days on a DTV coming up, living in Pattaya. Can I border bounce either via BKK airport or via a van service to Cambodia on the same day to get another 180 days or do I need to spend time out of the country?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user living in Pattaya is inquiring if they can do a same-day border bounce via Bangkok airport or a van service to Cambodia to extend their DTV visa for another 180 days. Responses indicate that it is possible to return to Thailand the same day, utilizing agents who offer border run services for a fee, around 5,500 baht, and requiring about 10 hours for the trip. Some comments also mention the need for a 90-day reporting requirement.

You can but always advisable not to. Go check out some local restaurants, stay the night and come back.

Have there been any reports of anyone being rejected entry if they left and came back on the same day?

Anonymous participant Yes plenty. You can never pick the mood of the immigration officer at the specific time and place

Anonymous participant I have not seen any reports of anyone on DTV being denied entry at all, and not for a same-day border bounce.

Anonymous participant Over the years, yes. I've done Cambodian border in Surin and they tell you to go for one day. I've also come back the same day, it's a mix and depends on the officer in charge at the time.
