Do I need to submit paperwork again for a DTV extension or can I just do a border run every 150 days?

If I am on the DTV; in 180 days would I have to submit all the same paperwork as before? Or do a border run every 150 days and just get restamped?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the requirements for extending a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand. Users express uncertainty about whether paperwork needs to be resubmitted after 180 days or if a border run is sufficient for obtaining a new stamp. While some users confirm that one can exit and re-enter to receive a new 180-day stamp without issue, there are concerns about the 90-day reporting and potential requirements for extensions, which remain unclear. Additionally, questions arise regarding maintaining a DTV visa status for an extended period through courses, such as Muay Thai or cooking.

So with a dtv . And you say do a course muay thai or cookery . Can you keep going out the cou try and back to get 5 years or do they go from the course end date and cancel it then . How would you stay 5 years on the dtv. As a nomad id understand but not by courses

the DTV visa is multiple entry for 5 years. Do simple border bounce and get stamped in for 180 days each time during the 5 years.

What about 90 day reporting, I heard you need to resubmit allot of things almost like you are reapplying for the visa again

90 day reports are for basically any stay in Thailand of 90 days irregardless of which visa. But no, you don't have to supply the same information as when you get the DTV.

The 90 day report is simple with a few pieces of paperwork. The purpose is to update immigration with where you are living and is not related to the visa.

, You need to do a 90-day report if you stay longer than 90 days continuously. You also need to check what documents are required at your local office. Generally, you bring your passport, a filled TM47 form, and a TM30 receipt. Some offices require copies of them or some more papers. Some require only your passport.

You can stay up to 180 days (it doesn't matter how many), then leave the country and return and get a new 180 stamp each time. Easy, I've already done it.

Extension- still unknown what the requirements will be

Did you just hop out to a different country for a while or just for a few days?

a simple BORDER BOUNCE by Air or Land, same day will get you a New 180 days stamp on arrival.

no one knows how it works to get an extension INSIDE the country because no one has been ON a DTV long enough to have applied for one at an immigration office

You can exit/re-enter and get a new 180 days without any issue at all

if this can help, and for the info that i'm searching, having an extension inside Thailand gives to the Gov the right to collect taxes from u, because below 180days u're not eligible, after u're.
