TLDR : Answer Summary
USA passport holders currently receive a 60-day visa exemption upon entry to Thailand, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at immigration. There is no option for a 90-day stay directly; however, travelers can leave the country and re-enter to obtain another visa exemption.

60 plus 30 = 90, then go out of the country and repeat.

Mine is 12 months between extensions.

I think it's better to define what kind of visa stay you mean.
Dave ********
Is the DTV visa available yet?
Steven *******
@Dave *******
yes dtv has been around since the 15th of July.
Dave ********
Thanks Steven .. do you know if you can apply when in Thailand?
Luit *****************
@Dave *******
no, you have to apply outside Thailand, just like almost all visa in this world...

Jeezo read the news and you'll find out, or use that thing called Google on your fone

@Heinz ********
When do u ask for 30 days extension?

Immediately or after 60 days?
Heinz *********
@Dennis *******
Well, I'm not applying for another 30 days, but I would recommend going to the immigration office 55-59 days before the expiration date to get another 30 days. It's possible to skip a day to get another 60 days, as well as the extension for 30 days. But I think that's it.

60 days

If those two choices are on the menu then no, there are no 30 day visas, but there are, like has been the case for a very long time, 90 day visas.

Not sure you qualify for them though.

VOA only 14 days

Thaimer ******
@Phil ********
no, it’s not. VOA is 15 days and it can’t be extended
Phil *********
OK, as an Australian you are given 60 days "visa exempt" stamp in your passport which can be extended once for 30 days, this is done on arrival, no need to apply before arriving
Thaimer ******
@Phil ********
VOA is one type of visa, while visa exemption is totally different thing
Phil *********
@Thaimer *****
clearly, thanks for pointing it out. Can be confusing in other countries. In Indonesia I get a VOA for 30 days πŸ˜€

Sometimes it’s nice to make human connections and to allow humans to help. To help. To help. To help. To help.
Kenny **********
@Clay ********
human connection via social media is a false construct. Human connections occur in real time in person.
Clay *********
@Kenny *********
That’s the best way. Google is the worst way. Connecting with humans via typing and photos is pretty good.
Kenny **********
@Clay ********
how do you know your communication is with a human? How do you know if the aledged human is not intentionally posting false information to facilitate an agenda. Google will at the minimum provide the government website that will have the true information. The problem is that people are lazy and want immediate answers.
Kim *********
@Kenny *********
actually you can find wrong information sometimes on an embassy web site
Clay *********
@Kenny *********
Do both. It’s all in fun and love and communication. One without the other isn’t as good. Party on.

@Kim ********
But you trust the arguments in this group?
Kim *********
@Bonnie ********
I trust the opinion of those who know what they talk about because they have experienced it
Bonnie *********
@Kim ********
And you can find as much valid information by googling. Or, ford forbid, the embassy website.

Laziness is nothing to be proud of.
Kim *********
@Bonnie ********
you jump to foolish conclusions and embassies web sites sometimes actually have wrong information
Kenny **********
@Kim ********
I wouldn't but that's up to you. Of course any information deceminated by members of this group can be flawed and incorrect. So there is that. Good luck.

You wasted a comment. Kenny, you didn't have to answer. All you had to do was scroll on and Google it.
Kenny **********

I have plenty of comments to waste. Come to think of it you wasted a comment making a comment on me wasting a comment. I hope we do not run out of comments. Maybe reevaluate you Soy Milk intake

Please tell me you didn't reproduce? And if you did reproduce, I hope your kids don't ask you any questions. We know what you would tell them, just to Google it. This is a help group. Why don't you help yourself and leave bully?
Kenny **********
@Randy *******
are you OK? You just wasted another comment. I suggest a hobby. Maybe stamp collecting. You must be a liberal because you sound vaccinated .
Colin *********
@Kenny *********
sounds like you're the one that needs a hobby. Being a keyboard warrior doesn't qualify as a hobby, but if you're lost about what hobby to take up, I'm sure that Google can help you. It's a pity there isn't a vaccine for keyboard warriors.
Randy ********
@Kenny *********
and here you are still wasting the air. I breathe
Kenny **********
@Randy *******
I was getting scared. What took you so long to respond? Wasting the air you breath ? Trying to be clever I think. It is not your strongest suit. Technically I expell CO2. So since you don't metabolize CO2 the air you breathe is not wasted by myself. Actually the CO2 I exhale is utilized by green plants as food with a by product of O2 and Nitrogen. It is called photosynthesis. Google it!!!
Todd *********
@Kenny *********
calm down and scroll on Kenny. You have Google. No need to join the group

If you talk about visa exempt it depends on your country. 60 days if you are on the list, but never 90.
Brett **********
Do you mean has the visa exempt changed from 30 days to 90? No, it's been extended to 60 days for the 93 countries visa exempt is applicable to but it can be extended by another 30 days at immigration once in Thailand
Bryce *******

Phil ******
@Sam *****
incorrect mate. Your talking VISA EXEMPT. The Tourist Visa is still 60 days and you apply in your home country if your eligible
Chris *******
@Sam *****
no they cannot.

It is a 60 day visa EXEMPT (no visa) entry that can be extended for 30 days once inside Thailand.

Now expanded to 93 countries.
Phil ******
@Sam *****
93 to be precise!
Kim *********
@Sam *****
93 selected countries can now get visa exempt 60 days + 30 days - is that what you talk about?
