Quick question, surprisingly hard to find an answer! My friend just arrived (USA passport) with 30 days on arrival. Unfortunately she booked the wrong flight and needs an extra 10 days.

Can her stay be extended without much fuss?

Many thanks! ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US passport holder can extend their stay in Thailand beyond the initial 30 days without much hassle. They should visit a local Immigration office to apply for an extension, which can grant them an additional 30 days for a fee of 1,900 THB.

You friend likely has a "Visa Exempt" stamp rather than a Visa on Arrival. It can be extended at any Immigration office for a further 30 days for 1,900 aht.
