Hello, I will be arriving early April on a US passport. I was wondering is Thailand Immigration still stamping 45 days Visa exempt or did it go back to 30 days? Also, if I get a TR visa with my local Thai embassy and they're still stamping people in for 45 days will I be able to stay 75 days or will it be 60 days? Ignore second question if Visa Exempt went back to 30 days.. TIA.

TLDR : Answer Summary
As of now, the Visa Exempt entry for Thailand is set to revert to the standard 30 days after March 31, 2023. If you apply for a TR (Tourist) visa, you will be granted a 60-day stay regardless of the Visa Exempt status. Therefore, if the Visa Exempt is back to 30 days, it will not impact your tourist visa's validity.

Thank you all.

If you get a tourist visa you'll be stamped in for 60 days regardless of what happens with visa exempt because you won't be using visa exempt you'll be using the visa.

and you can then extend that for 30 days for 1900 baht giving you 90 days in total.

At this time the visa exempt entry program is set to expire on March 31st, 2023, and it will go back to the normal 30 days that people used to get prior to Oct 7th 2022.

The TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) proposed that the 45 day program be approved until the end of the year BUT that hasn't happened yet. Watch the news..

IF you're in the US you apply for a visa to thailand using the eVisa online system and selecting the thai consulate that serves the area where you live in the US

This is the website to apply for a tourist visa online
