this is my time to make crossing border since my 6 months is full.

I'm now living in Bangkok.

Please kindly let me know the cheapest way to make it.

I think it will be land.

Thank you all!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A DTV holder in Bangkok is seeking the cheapest options for a border crossing since their 6-month stay is ending. Comments suggest several options, with land border crossings to Laos being a popular choice due to low costs. The bus to Mukdahan, crossing into Savannakhet, is highlighted as the cheapest method, suggesting a total cost of around 2000 THB for travel and visa. Other suggestions include considering flights to neighboring countries for a more relaxed trip, especially during the expensive holiday season. Caution is advised regarding frequent border bounces with concerns about visa regulations.

What's your original country? Can't you go back to your family for new year celebration?

If you border bounce with DTV you'll get back in but multiple visa exempt border bounces are now almost gaurenteed to give you issues.

Another stupid post

I’m looking at a DVT purely to get away every 180days been here 19 years never left Thailand as I’m on an 0 visa so no motivation to border bounce but with the DVT it encourages me to get away for a few days India , China, Malaysia,Vietnam. Singapore the list is never ending why do a one day border bounce !!!

FYI this is the website for the largest border bounce and visa run service company in Thailand...located in Bangkok. IF nothing else, Read their website for the latest news on the subject of border bounces or Thai Visa Runs.

Just take the bus to Mukdahan, cross over to Savanaket in Laos, and return. That is the cheapest land border to get to, and cross at. You don't have to stay in Laos, you can immediately return, depending on how long the queue is. Then the bus back. The bus will be under bt600 round trip, and the Laos visa is US$40. So about bt2000, not counting food

i go to chong mek from ubon pretty quick there too only 30 minute in total for the border and 3 hour drive for roundtrip in taxi

Also no buses there needed you go in to the right of where you came out of 😹

Loas is a very long road journey..

You would be far better to find a cheap flight to a nearby country and have a night or 2 stopover..

A far more relaxed way to exit and return..

If you choose Vietnam then ensure you understand the visa entry requirements for your passport country..

Wise advice ✅

Laos by land is gonna be around

k and a hell of trip. Just book a flight, stay out a couple of days and get back. It won't be much more expensive and it won't raise too many flags
DioPar******
Border bounces were ok till foreigners started to abuse it. While 100% legal I wouldn't recommend but choose a couple of days out instead. It's not pushing fear, it's just using a bit of brain avoiding to "abuse" the system

DioParco3474 Agreed.
Christopher ***********
DioParco3474 Thais don't need to do border bounces. The 'foreigners' you refer to must mean everyone else? DTV requirement is to either extend or exit after 180 days and exit after 360 days. Nothing else.

@Christopher **********
you don't get the point, it's always up to the officer to let you the country, whether you got a visa or not. Some behaviors, even though still legal, are often seen as suspicious and might end up raising flags while a few days out of the country would surely look more legit than 5 mins out. Peace ✌️
Christopher ***********
DioParco3474 Yet nobody with a DTV has been refused admission (or readmission) to Thailand. This possibly suspicious behaviour together with the flag waving appears to exist only in your mind.

there are, there are. There are folks that got denied and those who got their permit to stay shorten (2 months instead of 6). There are already other users that have told you that but you keep insisting with your point of view, no matter what. Do whatever you want, period.
Adam ********
DioParco3474 can you point me to the thread where people got two months entry stamp not six because this does sound like bs
Christopher ***********
DioParco3474 Why do you choose to inject fear by stating 'raising too many flags?' The OP is simply making a 180 day border bounce with a DTV. Nothing at all unusual or in any way contrary to DTV requirements.

it's just as much about the country you're entering, I know someone who was stopped in Singapore and missed their booked flight back because staying for a few hours and returning is consistent with drug runner behaviour. All good cause that's not what they were doing but stressful af and took time to sort out. Similarly some Laos checkpoints have (inconsistently enforced) not let people exit on same day and made them stay a night. These are rare occurrences to be sure, unlikely to happen, but it's good to be aware of what could happen.

Anonymous participant 460 Can't seem to recall reading a post about someone with a DTV being denied boarding in Singapore due to suspicious short interval between arrival and departure. Perhaps you could point me to it?

@Christopher **********
not everyone who has a DTV is in this facebook group lmao, most people are enjoying their lives in SEA and not neurotically trying to argue with everyone xD and I didnt say they were denied boarding, they were held and missed their flight whilst sg police were checking them.
Christopher ***********
Anonymous participant 460 No report then, not even anonymously. If Singapore police detained this someone whilst conducting their investigations they did, by delaying them, deny them boarding.

Land you will be looking at Nong Khai into Laos.

This time of year is expensive with it being the holidays but Malaysia may be your best option flight wise. Better to find somewhere you want to visit for a week or so and just take nice break.
