DTV visa extension has been a nightmare, and I can see that I am not the only one who is having/ had this issue. I am wanting to do a border run (possibly Singapore over night or Malaysia land crossing). Does anyone know if there is a minimum you have to stay away from thailand for on the DTV? or can you just simply fly over night and thats ok?

Or the land crossing, has anyone done this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges faced by expats with the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) regarding visa extension and border runs. Many are considering short trips to neighboring countries like Singapore or Malaysia for a border run, with no specific minimum time requirement out of Thailand mentioned, although some land crossings may impose informal restrictions. Users shared personal experiences, indicating that returning on the same day is common, and they recommended utilizing services that expedite immigration processes.

So people here do visa run so they don’t gonna become tax resident in worlds most lowest tax country but are happy to pay tax back home 30+% and some countries 50%?

What nightmare experiences did you have extending the DTV?

Singaporean here. I fly out in the morning. Go back to my home in singapore to grab some things or have a meal with friends, fly back at night. No issues.

It is called a border bounce. A visa run is when you leave to get a new visa. There is no specified time to be out of the country, but some land border posts can be obstructive in an attempt to obtain some tea money from you. Reports on another group say the Lao crossing at Nong Khai is insisting you stay out a minimum of 2 days, but I don't know if that includes DTV holders or just visa-exempt people.

If you go with a company to do border run, go same day. If you fly out and in yourself, better order immigration fast track or maybe you not get let in…

You can leave and come back right away, you don’t have to spend a night or even an hour wherever you go. You can of course use a visa run land border service too.
