Hello I have a one year non-O extension based on Thai Child. It expires on the 5th of this month and don't have enough time to renew it. So I was thinking to do a border run to get a new 45 day stamp. When I get to the border is the Non-O extension automatically cancelled or do I need to cancel it before I go?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you leave Thailand for a border run without a re-entry permit, your Non-O extension will automatically become invalid upon departure. To preserve the extension, consider applying for a one-time 60-day family visit extension instead.

Thank you. Your advise is correct. I don't have a reentry permit so once I leave my extension will cancel which is what I want to achieve. Much appreciated
because if he leaves and already has a re-entry permit he won't be able to re-enter on visa exempt if it's not the 6th. Try thinking about other scenarios that may negatively effect people before typing an unhelpful response.
. I'm sure you know that re entry permits expire the same day the extension does so I'm trying to understand your point here. Extension expired =re entry expired same time.
