Renewed my non-o retirement extension in January. Just now realized they never asked about re-entry and there is no re-entry stamp in my passport? Oversight??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the oversight regarding the re-entry permit after renewing a NON-O retirement visa in Thailand. It highlights that re-entry permits are not included with visa extensions and must be applied for separately, either at an immigration office or at the airport before leaving the country. Comments clarify the costs associated with single and multiple re-entry permits, and emphasize the need for the visa holder to be proactive in asking for and paying for these permits.

it's up to you to decide whether or not you're going to leave the country and come back

It's 1000 baht for a single entry re-entry stamp and 3800 baht for a multiple re-entry stamp. I got my multiple re-entry stamp last week at the Immigration Office... a relatively simple process

You apply and pay for that separately after your extension is inked in. You can get one when exiting the country at the airport (but not at a land border).

The re entry stamp is an additional stamp after renewal (only needed to re enter Thailand if you leave) I wish they would offer a renewal complete with multi re entry to save getting 2 stamps all the time ... pay the extra but save space in passport.

You must ask and pay for it when renewing

I would see no harm in going back to immigration and explain mistake

Tom Whyte there is no mistake. Fill in TM8, photocopy of first page and page with latest extension stamp, current visa stamp and one photo. 1000 baht single and 3800 baht for multiple.

Why would they ask? You have to apply for a re-entry permit

oh. I thought you either got a single or multiple re-entry with each extension, whichever you choose. Didn’t realize there was an option of no re-entry permit. Thanks

No extension comes with a re-entry permit. It's something that you have to apply for and pay for each year.

Tom Feahr 1000 baht in local immigration office. Probably closer to 2000 in the airport prior to leaving. Simple!
